A filter is a precision machine that uses gravity or pressure difference to pass a suspension through a porous medium, thereby retaining solid particles and achieving effective solid-liquid separation in the suspension.The filter medium refers to the porous solid material used to retain solid particles and allow liquid to permeate during filtration, depending on its function and application environment.
Structure&Principle：
Wastewater flows into the hollow drum and passes from the inner side to the outer side of the filter screen under gravity, with suspended solids in the water trapped on the inner surface of the stainless steel screen.The drum rotates slowly. A backwash pump draws filtered effluent to backwash the screen.Backwash water is sprayed from the outer side to the inner side of the screen through nozzles at the top of the drum. The particulate matter washed off is collected in a backwash trough and discharged from the unit through a sewage pipeline.

1、Long service life of the filter screen: The filter screen can be used for up to 2 years.
2、Easy replacement of filter screen: Independent screen panels can be dismantled individually without affecting other screens.
3、Strong resistance to shock loading: The equipment can operate normally when the influent SS is no higher than 40 mg/L.
4、Continuous filtration operation: Filtration and backwashing do not interfere with each other.

8、 Small footprint: For the same treatment capacity, the drum filter occupies much less space than other filtration process equipment.
9、Low backwash water consumption: Impurities are not easy to accumulate on the filter screen and can be easily removed by high-pressure backwash water. The backwash water is taken from the filtered effluent, accounting for only **0.3%** of the treated water volume, much lower than the **3%–5%** water consumption of other similar filters. This reduces the burden of subsequent treatment of backwash wastewater.
10、Low requirement for foundation bearing capacity and low investment. It is especially suitable for the upgrading and reconstruction of existing wastewater treatment plants, enabling effluent quality to meet the Grade I A standard from Grade I B.
