The chain-type reverse-rake bar screen is a highly reliable, stable, and high‑performance mechanical screening device for removing solids. It is widely used in municipal wastewater treatment, water supply treatment, various industrial wastewater treatment processes, and other solid‑liquid separation applications. During operation, the equipment continuously and automatically removes suspended materials such as wood wedges, branches, plastic products, construction waste, domestic waste, and sanitary products from the filtered water, making it an ideal and efficient pre‑treatment device for water supply and drainage systems.
Structure&Principle:
The main structural components of the chain-type reverse-rake bar screen include underwater bars, sprockets and chains, main frame and slag discharge mechanism, screen housing, drive motor, and system seals.
The screen is a front-rake rotary cleaning type. All rakes, as well as the drive chains on both sides and the upper and lower sprockets, are installed on the upstream side of the bars and the screen backplate. The cleaning rakes are driven by the chains, while the bars remain fixed.
The screen is capable of fully automatic mechanical cleaning through forward and reverse operation of the rakes. The rake bucket approaches the channel bottom from the upper side of the screen. Upon reaching the bottom, the rakes scrape upward along the bars to remove screenings and carry them upward. During movement past the backplate, static dewatering occurs. When the rakes reach the top of the screen, they rotate toward the front of the screen, and the screenings are pushed by the scraper plate into the discharge chute at the rear of the screen, then conveyed away by a screw conveyor. The design ensures complete prevention of screenings leakage into subsequent process stages.
The screen chains are equipped with rakes at regular intervals, featuring a multi‑segment rake design to ensure continuous cleaning capability. The screen bars are of a robust rectangular strip design with sufficient strength and are fixed to the subsequent fixed backplate. In the bar area, including the sealing areas on both sides, there are no gaps larger than the bar spacing, thus ensuring that all solids larger than the bar spacing are effectively filtered.
