The Shenyang City-level sewage and sludge treatment plant equipment update project is a key municipal engineering project registered by Shenyang City, Liaoning Province and approved for construction with Shenfa Gaishenzi [2024] No. 168. The project will cover the southern sewage treatment plant and the western sewage treatment plant. , Shenyang Zhenxing Sewage Treatment Co., Ltd., Fairy River Sewage Treatment Plant, Shenshuiwan Sewage Treatment Plant, Mantang River Sewage Treatment Plant and other 6 sewage treatment plants and 1 Zhenxing Sludge Treatment Plant have been updated with facilities and equipment, involving a total of 2,302 sets of equipment updates.Shenshuiwan Sewage Treatment Plant is located at No. 9 Hunnan West Road, Heping District, Shenyang City, near the Shenshuiwan Golf Course, and adjacent to the beautiful Hunhe River landscape belt. The plant was built and officially put into operation in 2003, with a total designed treatment capacity of 400,000 tons/day (400,000 m³/d), is an important part of the northern sewage treatment system planned in the early stage of Shenyang City. It is mainly responsible for treating domestic sewage and some industrial wastewater in parts of Heping District, Shenhe District and Hunnan District of Shenyang City. The service scope covers a large area in the central city of Shenyang.As an old factory that has been in operation for more than 20 years, some equipment inevitably has problems such as aging and reduced energy efficiency. Because of its large scale and sensitive geographical location, it has become a key target of Shenyang's current equipment renewal project. It is hoped that through continuous technological transformation and equipment updating, it will gradually move towards a new stage of more efficiency, energy saving and intelligence, and realize the recycling of water resources.

It will not only effectively improve the water quality of receiving water bodies such as Hunhe River tributaries, but also provide a demonstration sample for the upgrading and transformation of Shenyang's sewage treatment facilities, promote the development of the city's water industry in the direction of "efficiency, energy saving, intelligence, and green" and effectively enhance citizens' sense of gain from the improvement of water environment quality.
