In the fields of modern industrial production and municipal environmental protection, precise chemical dosing is the core link to ensure process stability, water quality standards, and equipment safety. As an integrated and automated pharmaceutical dosing equipment, the dosing device achieves precise metering, stable transportation and intelligent control of pharmaceuticals through scientific system design. It is widely used in water treatment, petrochemicals, electric power, metallurgy and other industries, and has become an indispensable "precision dosing steward" in the production process.  


1. Application scenarios of dosing devices: covering the core needs of multiple industries
The application scenarios of dosing devices run through almost all process links that require chemical intervention. Typical scenarios include:
- Municipal sewage treatment: add flocculants (such as polyaluminum chloride) to accelerate the precipitation of suspended solids, add disinfectants (such as sodium hypochlorite) to kill germs, and add denitrification agents (such as urea) to reduce the total nitrogen content;

In these scenarios, the core value of the dosing device is to avoid errors in manual dosing, reduce the waste of chemicals, reduce the risk of secondary pollution, and improve process stability.  


2. The core components of the dosing device: a precise system with modular design
A complete dosing device usually consists of the following modules, and each part works together to achieve efficient dosing:
1. Medication storage unit: including storage tanks made of PE or stainless steel (capacity ranging from tens of liters to dozens of cubic meters), agitator (to ensure uniform mixing of the medication and water), and liquid level sensor (to monitor the remaining amount of the medication in real time). The existence of the agitator avoids the precipitation of chemicals and ensures consistent dosage concentration.  
2. Metering and dosing unit: The core is the metering pump (such as diaphragm pump, plunger pump), which has an accuracy of up to ±1% and can accurately adjust the flow rate according to needs. Matching flowmeters (such as rotor flowmeters and electromagnetic flowmeters) provide real-time feedback on the dosage to ensure data traceability.  
3. Control system: with PLC (programmable logic controller) as the core and combined with sensors (pH meter, turbidity meter, conductivity meter, etc.) to achieve automatic regulation. For example, when the turbidity in the sewage treatment tank increases, the PLC will automatically increase the dosage of flocculant; when the pH value of the circulating water is low, it will automatically add alkali solution to adjust. Some high-end devices also support remote monitoring (via IoT technology), enabling unattended operation.  
4. Auxiliary units: including filters (to prevent impurities from clogging the pump body), safety valves (to protect system pressure stability), pipeline valves (to control the flow direction of chemicals), and chemical dilution systems (for proportional dilution of high-concentration chemicals).  


3. Working principle: precise dosing logic of closed-loop control
The work flow of the dosing device can be summarized as a closed-loop system of "preparation-measurement-dosing-feedback-adjustment":
1. Pharmaceutical preparation: Add solid or liquid pharmaceuticals into the storage tank in proportion, start the mixer and mix evenly;
2. Metering and dosing: The metering pump delivers chemicals to the target system (such as sewage pools, circulating water pipes) according to PLC instructions;
3. Real-time monitoring: The sensor collects key parameters of the target system (such as pH, turbidity) and transmits the data to the PLC;
4. Intelligent adjustment: PLC compares the actual parameters with the set values ​​and automatically adjusts the flow rate of the metering pump to ensure that the dosage of the agent matches the process requirements.  

For example, in a circulating water system, if the sensor detects that the pH value is lower than 7.5 (set value), the PLC will immediately increase the dosage of alkali solution until the pH returns to normal; otherwise, the dosage will be reduced to achieve dynamic balance.  


4. Advantages of dosing device: high efficiency, energy saving and reliability
Compared with traditional manual dosing, dosing devices have significant advantages:
- Accurate dosing: avoid excessive or insufficient dosage and reduce cost waste (according to statistics, automatic dosing can reduce dosage consumption by 15%~30%);
- High degree of automation: no need for special personnel on duty, continuous operation 24 hours a day, reducing labor costs;
- Stable and reliable: modular design reduces failure points, and the life of core components (such as metering pumps) can reach 5 to 10 years;
- Environmental protection and safety: the closed system avoids leakage of chemicals, reduces harm to operators, and reduces the risk of secondary pollution;
- Data traceability: Dosing data is recorded through the control system to facilitate process optimization and compliance auditing.  


5. Maintenance and precautions: the key to extending lifespan
In order to ensure the long-term stable operation of the dosing device, the following maintenance points need to be paid attention to:
- Regular calibration: Calibrate metering pump flow and sensors (such as pH meter) every month to ensure data accuracy;
- Cleaning and maintenance: Clean filters every week, clean storage tanks and pipes every quarter to avoid clogging with chemical residue;
- Drug management: Use drugs that meet standards to avoid expired or spoiled drugs entering the system;
- Safe operation: Wear protective equipment when coming into contact with corrosive agents, and regularly check the sealing of pipelines to prevent leaks.
